The catalogue lives inside the terminal: if the line drops, the till keeps selling. When it comes back the receipts upload, hash-chained so none can be altered, and the Z-report posts to the ledger with VAT split by rate.
It is an installed application, not a web page: it carries the catalogue inside and keeps taking payments even if the internet drops. It talks to the app over an API, with a key of its own for each terminal, so the moment the line comes back the receipts and closes go up and the current catalogue comes down; from the dashboard you see the tills live.
Each receipt is chained by fingerprint to the one before, so none can be altered or deleted without it showing, and it works with receipt and A4 printers over the network, a scale and a quick-sale keypad.
